The longest running food festival in England and one of the biggest, the Ludlow Food Festival will have stalls from over 180 quality local food and drink producers.
Set in and around the impressive ruins of Ludlow Castle, with the fields of rural Shropshire as a backdrop, this must also be one of the best sited food festivals around.
As well as the food stalls, the festival includes cookery demonstrations, talks and tastings, and plenty of activities to keep children entertained!
Getting there: Ludlow train station is in the centre of town. Direct trains run from Manchester (around 1 hour 40 minutes), amongst other places. Trains from London take around 3 hours and require a change either in Newport or Crewe.
Ludlow is easily accessible by car down major roads off the M5 and M6 motorways but many of the town centre roads are closed during the festival so you should park in the festival ‘park and ride’. More details are available on the festival website (below).
