Much of north Devon is a patchwork of lush, grassy fields with cows grazing, wildflowers growing in the hedgerows, open moorland and quiet, historic villages, free of tourist crowds.

Nowhere is this truer than in ‘Ruby Country’, squeezed in between Exmoor, Dartmoor and the north coast, where a network of walking trails makes the area easy to explore on foot and the bridleways and country lanes are perfect for cycling or horse-riding. The picturesque market towns and villages are home to cosy pubs serving excellent local food.
