Britain is a very family friendly place to travel. Many hotels offer family rooms, can provide cots or extra beds or have interconnecting rooms. Most tourist attractions have family tickets that offer a discount on the individual ticket prices.
Restaurants have varying policies towards young children. Some are very welcoming, others prefer young children to eat only at lunchtime and in the early evening. Occasionally, a restaurant will not allow young children at all.
All cafes welcome children of all ages.
The vast majority of pubs are family friendly and allow children in the pub at any time of day. A small number have restrictions on when children are allowed on the premises.
Bars, more common in towns and cities than rural areas, are often for over 18s only.
