A celebration of York’s Viking and Norse history, the Jorvik Viking Festival takes over many areas of the city during February.
There are over 80 unique events throughout the festival, including sword fighting workshops, crafts, lectures and tours as well as dramatic combat performances, music and archaeological expert sessions. Tickets for the various events and more information is available from the website below.
Getting there: York is easy accessible by train as there are direct trains from London to the south and Newcastle and Edinburgh to the north, as well as many other cities.
If travelling by car, we recommend parking in one of the ‘park and ride’ car-parks on the outskirts of town and taking the bus in.
