This summer, Glasgow will be hosting the 2014 Commonwealth Games which will bring together thousands of elite athletes from over 70 countries of the Commonwealth. It promises to be an incredible festival of sport and entertainment. Events will be held at different venues all over the City and there is bound to be huge levels of interest when the cycling teams compete in the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome.

Celebrations begin in Glasgow with the arrival of The Queen's Baton Relay on 20 July 2014. The baton will have travelled 190,000 kilometres over 70 nations and territories and relayed by thousands of people throughout the Commonwealth!
Getting there: Glasgow is served by three international airports with direct flights from 130 destinations, two mainline railway stations, a coach station with connections across the UK and is within easy reach of several ferry ports.
